All About Us
Some things are born from love, and Zari Emerson is no exception. Founded in 2015 by Ayana Harris, the brand carries the name of both her and her daughter, along with the spirit of a tradition passed down to her. Growing up, Ayana didn’t just get dressed, she had opinions. She would tell her mother exactly what she wanted to wear and how it should be made, and her mother brought every vision to life. That collaborative joy, that insistence on quality and intention, never left her. Ayana’s eye for fashion isn’t something she discovered, it’s something she has always had. From designing for marching bands to styling school modeling groups as a child, her instinct for dressing people with purpose started early and never stopped.
Zari Emerson is where that lifelong passion meets motherhood, a children’s clothing brand built on the belief that how a child is dressed can shape how they move through the world. Her work centers on timeless, feminine, and romantic designs, combining vintage-inspired textures and fabrics, from quilted pieces and knits to twill, into collections that tell compelling stories through color, form, and movement. Beyond design, she leverages audience insight, market awareness, and strategic brand management to ensure collections resonate with target markets and deliver meaningful engagement. She guides brands and productions, shaping cohesive identities, curating immersive experiences, and overseeing projects from concept to execution. While rooted in classic aesthetics, she also embraces modern and conceptual pieces, such as the Golden Princesses collection, which pushes the boundaries of texture, color, and storytelling.
